Care from a chiropractor focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of your musculoskeletal system, especially with regards to your spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints. A chiropractor uses non-invasive, safe manual techniques that are specific to your individual needs. Thus you will be asked to help complete a full medical history to aid in your diagnosis and development of a comprehensive treatment plan.

In addition to your manual treatment in the clinic, you may also be recommended other non-invasive modalities, as well as certain exercises and lifestyle modifications. For example, some chiropractors use laser therapy, which uses red and infrared light to help reduce pain, accelerate healing, and reduce inflammation. You may also be asked to complete an exercise regimen (outside of your treatment at the clinic) that will help to stretch and/or strengthen the correct muscles to help resolve your main complaint. And the lifestyle modifications you could potentially be asked to complete might be something as basic as losing weight or drinking more fluids.

You might be considering seeing a chiropractor because it was recommended to you, or you may have heard that chiropractic has a wide range of health benefits. Some people seek help because of injury, while others simply have postural issues causing them discomfort.

Physiotherapy is the practice of improving your quality of life by promoting optimal mobility and overall health and well-being. It can also help to prevent illness and disease, manage acute and chronic conditions, and help you to rehabilitate from injury or the effects of disease or disability. It can also help create for you maintenance plans that will prevent re-occurrence or re-injury. Physio has its basis in the movement sciences and aims to enhance or restore the function of your entire body.

After taking an initial health history with you, your physiotherapist will also likely assess you via some physical tests or measures, such as your range of motion or flexibility. Then, you will be provided with a reasonable diagnosis, and together you can explore the various treatment methods and thereby devise an appropriate plan for treatment.

During the course of your treatment, your physiotherapist may incorporate massage, joint mobilization, personalized exercise regimens, and any other number of modalities aimed at improving your healing time and enhancing your functional mobility. You will also likely be given advice in regards to lifestyle changes that you can make to facilitate your treatment, e.g. mitigating work or home stressors that contribute to your main complaints. While many physiotherapists prefer to use a variety of machines in their practice, we at Yellow Gazebo feel that hands-on treatment is not only more enjoyable for you, the patient, but is also more effective in producing lasting results.

Many women suffer from pelvic health issues that they are told cannot be resolved. Luckily for the average woman, that is no longer true! And if you've found us then it looks like you're on the right track to better pelvic health.

While many people are told to do Kegel exercises to help with incontinence, pelvic pain or other issues related to your pelvic floor (see below), they are in fact not always the correct prescribed exercise. In fact, strengthening an already tight pelvic floor can actually make things worse - this is why working with someone trained in pelvic floor physiotherapy is so essential.

Weak pelvic floor muscles can be diagnosed by your physiotherapist trained in this specialization. Such issues with weak pelvic floors include:

- stress incontinence
- urge incontinence
- pelvic organ prolapse

Issues related to an overly tight pelvic floor include:

- urinary and fecal urgency
- urge incontinence
- chronic pelvic pain
- pain with intercourse
- vaginismus

Good pelvic floor health can also help prepare you for pregnancy, help you stay healthy and comfortable during pregnancy, and can help you after giving birth as well.

At Yellow Gazebo Natural Health Care, you are treated with only the best, sterilized needles, which are used just once and then are disposed of in accordance with the Clean Needle Technique (CNT).

Acupuncture can help reduce symptoms of almost any condition that does not require antibiotics or surgery.

Focusing on prevention and using natural substances and treatments, naturopathic doctors support and stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself. The naturopathic approach is comprehensive, integrating scientific knowledge with several well-established alternative therapeutic systems (modalities), including:

Lifestyle counselling
Nutrition
Herbal medicine
Homeopathy
Nutritional supplements
Chinese medicine and acupuncture
Manual therapies
These naturopathic modalities can be divided into two categories:

1. Modalities that address the causes of disease: our interaction with the physical environment (what we eat, drink, and breathe), as well as the physical structure of our body. These are best addressed through holistic nutrition, herbal medicine, and Chinese medicine.

2. Modalities that address the underlying mental, emotional, spiritual, and constitutional causes of physical or psychological symptoms: these reflect the internal imbalance that persists even in an optimal environment and ideal lifestyle. These are best addressed through energy medicine, Chinese medicine, and psychotherapy.

By applying these two perspectives together, our clinic is able to offer a comprehensive array of solutions for preventing and treating virtually any health condition, including and especially those considered medically incurable.

Upon learning about Traditional Chinese Medicine, she quickly realized how much it resonated with her beliefs about the human body and its ability to heal itself under the right conditions. This, coupled with some transformational acupuncture treatments she received, inspired her to delve deeper into TCM, become an acupuncturist and help facilitate healing and joy in her community. Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Social Worker Margotte Kaczanowska, MSW RSW margotte@yellowgazeboclinic.com

For more than three decades I have been privileged to work with individuals - children, adolescents, and adults, with couples and families in different configurations, and with groups. I have been also exposed to different schools of thought in psychotherapy, different ways of supporting people. I am not attached to any particular school of thinking, particular school of helping. I have a few strong attractions and some of them are Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness.

This profession, like many professions, is about growth. Non-flexible attachment to one particular school of thinking would be, through limiting my own growth, limiting growth of others.

You are unique. I want to respect your uniqueness. The philosophy underlying my way of supporting others stems from belief that people have their own skills of living and knowledges of life that support them in resolving, healing, recovering, surviving addressing their concerns. Knowledges, for there is more that one knowledge: of ourselves, of another human being of the world around us. What is often needed is an atmosphere facilitating meaningful conversation or number of conversations to happen.

I do not believe my years of education and experience put me in expert position. I am not your expert - you are. I am willing to co-create with you an atmosphere in which meaningful conversations can take place with a hope that we explore at least three things together:

Recapturing some of your skills of living and knowledges of life and applying them to your present life circumstances Co-creating new ideas. Part of the process is pure creation. I do not know what we may end up talking about and how we may arrive there. We have never met before. The very fact gives a chance to create ideas neither of us would be able to come up with on our own. Sharing my ideas. I am willing to share with you my ideas coming from my both professional and personal experiences. In fact most of them are not even mine. For the past three decades I have been privileged to be invited to people’s lives therefore exposed to thousands and thousands of stories. I feel like a big library or “Chapters”, full of stories. There is wisdom in the stories, brilliant solutions people were able to create, common themes. If I did not share the wisdom of the stories it would be a loss. But whatever I am going to offer, you are the one who can say: “I adore this idea. I am going to take it with me” or “I am not sure about this one. I am going to throw it to the garbage” or “From this particular idea I just like this little part” There is no power or expertise involved. It is a co-creative, collaborative process, a partnership situation.

Sometimes I say that it is very much like cooking together and none of us is a chef and we do not have a recipe.
